Well done Jakub for coming first in this year’s University of Nottingham’s Mooting competition, along with our runners up Jenna and Velma.
This year Quartz Barristers are working with the University of Nottingham’s Mooting Society, where we’re collaborating with young people through supporting them as they develop their advocacy skills, public speaking and legal research.
This summer, our winner Jakub will have the opportunity shadow one of our family barristers for a day. We hope that experience gives you valuable insight that will help further your skills.
Our acclaimed senior family barrister, Esther Cantor, was one of judges in this year’s competition stated:
“In any event, I was surprised at the high quality of the advocacy. In respect of Jakub, he appeared relaxed and he was very clear in his submissions. All three did really well and I am sure they will succeed at the Bar, if that is their intention.”
As our law community continues to evolve, Quartz Barristers aim on creating opportunities and new pathways for those aspiring to make an impact in our ever evolving legal community. Once again, congratulations Jakub, Jenna and Velma – with your bright futures ahead of you, we hope that you will lead the way for our community for years to come.
